Yes: every new Wallaby Token account starts with $0.50 of free trial credit for the Kimi K3 API. No card, no top-up, no sales call. At current rates that is enough for roughly 50 real test calls, enough to wire kimi-k3 into your tool and decide with evidence.
Disclosure: Wallaby Token is our own service, so read this as the answer we can prove, not a neutral review. Everything below is on our public pages and linked where it lives.
What $0.50 actually buys
The metered rate for kimi-k3 is $2.70 per 1M input tokens, $0.27 per 1M cached input tokens, and $13.50 per 1M output tokens. A typical smoke-test call, meaning a short prompt plus a few hundred tokens of reasoning and reply, costs about $0.01.
| What you do with the credit | Approx. cost | How many $0.50 covers |
|---|---|---|
| Short test call (~1K in / 500 out) | ~$0.01 | ~50 calls |
| Long-context run (50K in / 2K out) | ~$0.16 | 3 runs |
| Cached repeat of the same long prompt | ~$0.04 | ~12 runs |
The point of the credit is verification, not production. Run your own prompts, measure latency from your own network, and check the itemized bill line by line before you pay a cent. Wrong fit? You have spent nothing.
Start in two minutes
- Register with an email at wallabytoken.com. The account opens with the $0.50 credit already on it.
- In the console, open Tokens → Add token. Keys start with
sk-; create as many as you need, each with its own spending cap. - Make a call. Any OpenAI-compatible client works: point the base URL at us and pick the model.

Those three steps with screenshots are in our docs. No payment method is asked for at any point in this flow.
When the credit runs out
Top-ups are prepaid USD from $20, by card via Stripe, and the balance never expires. Every request settles as its own itemized line, with input, cached input, and output tokens separated, so the first paid dollar is as auditable as the free fifty cents. Rates stay the same whether you are on trial credit or paid balance; the machine-readable version lives at pricing.json.
FAQ
Do I need a card to use the trial credit?
No. Registration needs only an email, and the $0.50 credit is on the account before anyone mentions payment.
Does the trial credit expire?
No. Neither the trial credit nor topped-up balances expire.
What happens when the credit runs out?
Calls stop until you top up. There is no surprise billing, because there is no card on file to charge. Top-ups start at $20 and every request remains itemized per call.
